Wheel Alignments, Suspension & Steering in Mineral Wells TX

Does your ride show any of these signs while driving?

  • Pulls left or right when the wheel is straight

  • Uneven or feathered tire wear on the edges

  • Steering wheel sits crooked on a straight road

  • Vibration or shake through the wheel at 55+ mph

  • Clunk, pop, or knock over bumps and driveways

These are classic clues your alignment or suspension is out of spec. We’ll dial it back to factory-straight and toss in a road test down North Oak Ave to prove it.

We were driving behind a truck and noticed a common suspension.

Notice the rear wheels are severely cambered (tilted inward at the bottom), which is not typical for a truck. This is often referred to as “negative camber,” and it's uncommon—and generally impractical—for pickup trucks, which are typically set up for utility and load-bearing purposes.

Excessive camber like this may cause:

  • Uneven tire wear

  • Reduced traction and braking efficiency

  • Possible safety and alignment issues

It looks like a case of extreme suspension modification, possibly for aesthetic or stance purposes, which can compromise handling and safety—especially in a heavy-duty vehicle like this.

Can Your Truck Fit Our Rack?

We run a Hunter Hawkeye Elite alignment system rated for vehicles up to 82‑inch track width and 160‑inch wheelbase. Most half‑ton pickups and SUVs fit fine, but long‑bed HD duallys may be a squeeze.

Call us with your make/model and we’ll confirm before you roll in.

Alignment & Suspension FAQ

Which of the 2 types of wheel alignment is better?

  1. Two‑wheel (thrust) alignment only sets the front wheels and checks the thrust angle of the rear. It’s cheaper and fine if the rear axle is fixed and square.

  2. Four‑wheel alignment measures and adjusts all four corners. Modern cars and trucks benefit from 4‑wheel because adjustable rear cambers keep the vehicle tracking perfectly straight and save your tires. For most customers, 4‑wheel is the way to go.

How do I know if my suspension is out of alignment?

Besides a pull or crooked wheel, peek at your tires. If one edge is bald while the other looks new, you’re out of alignment. Another trick: on a straight, flat street, briefly loosen your grip — if the car drifts in a second or two, it’s time for an alignment check.

How often should I get an alignment?

We suggest once a year or every 12 000 miles, whichever comes first. Also schedule one after new tires, hitting a nasty pothole, or installing suspension parts like control arms or lift kits.

Will an alignment fix a crooked steering wheel?

Yes. Centering the steering wheel is part of every proper alignment. If your wheel is still off after service, either something is still bent or the shop skipped a step. We road‑test and re‑center before handing back the keys.

Why is my steering wheel still off after alignment?

Could be worn tie‑rods, loose bushings, or even a bent subframe. An alignment can’t hold if the parts that keep everything square are shot. We inspect and quote repairs before we lock in the numbers.

Will the steering wheel shake if alignment is off?

Alignment can cause mild shimmy, but a true shake at speed usually points to wheel balance, bent rims, or warped brake rotors. Good news: we balance wheels and check rotors during our alignment package.
